This year, the Town of Lexington commemorates Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with its fourth annual family-friendly day of volunteer activities supporting the underserved. Come lend a hand. Last year we had almost 400 volunteers make a difference in the lives of more than 2,000 people. It's amazing what a community can do!

Events begin at 9:​00 am with an interfaith discussion about race at Grace Chapel (59 Worthen Road, Lexington: Coffee and donuts will be provided.) At 11:00 am, join us on the Unity Walk from the Minuteman Statue on the Lexington Green to Cary Memorial Hall (1605 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington), where at 11:30 am presenters, including Lexington literary performer Regie O'Hare Gibson and the SNAP Sing Along Chorus, will share the spirt of Dr. King's legacy and kick off the day's service/volunteer opportunities.

  • 9:00am: Discussion on Race, Grace Chapel 
  • 11:00am: Unity Walk, Minuteman Statue to Cary Memorial Hall , followed by presentation
  • 11:00am-1:00pm: Cradles to Crayons Brighton
  • 12:00-2:00pm: Lunch with Seniors at Countryside, Greeley and Vynebrook Villages
  • 12:00-4:00pm: Lexington Montessori School Card Making
  • 12:30-3:00pm: Community Day at Waltham YMCA
  • 9:00am-3:00pm: Drop off DONATIONS at Grace Chapel
  • 12:30-2:00pm: Visiting Senior residents and Card Making at Waltham Crossing
